There are bad movies, and there are terrible movies. And then there are movies that are so profoundly terrible that they are unintentionally hilarious and beyond parody. Such was the case with Plan 9 from Outer Space–the defining opus from Ed Wood, who is widely considered to be the most inept film director of all time. One of the most so-terrible-it’s-brilliant aspects of the film is that Bela Lugosi died before the filming was completed and the body double that Wood selected was a piss-poor match at best. But that was just one of thousands of compounding errors that make this film a true work of accidental genius.
