There’s a little pocket of Taos, New Mexico where an architect named Mike Reynolds is building homes out of recycled garbage. But these are not just sustainable homes–they’re self-sustaining homes, which is a whole other level. They’re built into the ground, completely off the grid, solar-powered, and use rainwater for plumbing and to grow their own food.
